First in the world KYOCERA Chemical developed halogen-free high frequency laminates (PPE based material).
Sales of the material will start in 2005.
The material is superior in transmission at high frequency, especially GHz band, and it is the most suitable for the application of base station for high speed data communication, antenna and mobile phone.
The material complies with "Environment friendly laminates for high frequency", the green project materials proceeded by each electronics manufacturers. |

<Prototype for High-frequency Aerial> |
We had been supplying PPE base laminates (Polyphenylene Ether Resin) as a substitute good process-able high frequency base material for PTFE mainly for domestic sales since 1997. Although conventional PPE laminate has good general properties, its halogen-free formulation was quite difficult.
It was said that PPE resin is difficult to cope with both non-flammable property and low moisture absorption, low dielectric constant, low dielectric dissipation, therefore, any attempts of halogen-free, antimony-free PPE laminates has never succeeded.
We have succeeded in halogen-free PPE laminates of excellent dielectric properties.
As a pioneer in the halogen-free laminates business of FR-4 and FPC, we could succeed halogen-free laminate of excellent dielectric properties by our own resin formulation technology and non-flammable technology.
This material features not only providing low dielectric constant, dielectric dissipation and halogen-free, antimony-free but realizing lower thermal expansion, lower warpage, good dimensional stability, improved connection reliability and applicable for multi-layer laminate or High Density Interconnection. |
